Reports of glass in baby food jars leads to a recall. Beech-Nut has initiated a voluntary recall for their Classics Stage 2 Sweet Potato Chicken.
Following concerns the product may contain pieces of glass, the company is voluntarily recalling nearly two thousand pounds of the baby food.
If your child has been injured because of a defective product, our committed Tulsa personal injury attorneys are ready to help you file a claim to recover compensation for your child’s suffering and medical expenses.
According to one food safety advocate:
“There is probably no product in America that’s under more scrutiny than baby food. Because the last thing you want to do is poison a baby or have something like this happen.”
The recall affects 4-oz. glass jars containing Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken that were produced on Dec. 12, 2014.
The containers have:
- December 2016 expiration date
- Establishment number P-68-A
- Product numbers 12395750815 through 12395750821
The company says consumers can return a recalled product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund or exchange. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Glass fragments in the baby food could cause infants to suffer lacerations to the mouth and lips, or could cause internal injuries or choking if swallowed.
